Dating today certainly is not as easy as it once was. There are a lot of things to consider when you're interested in a man. We're told to be confident but not cocky, to be independent but not completely self reliant and there's an ongoing question regarding the issue of should women call men. We know that men make assumptions about us based on our actions, so when it comes to calling the man we're interested in, what should a woman do?
Calling a man you're dating should be fairly straight. Let's say you two had a date, you hit it off, and he said he'd call. A week passes and you do not hear from him. Most women would take the plunge and give the guy a call. Others think that waiting is the right thing to do since the guy has the number and surely he knows how to dial a telephone. So what's the correct answer to the question of should women call men in this instance? Although the inclining is there to call the guy, you'd fare better in terms of a second, third or even fifteenth date if you did not do the calling.
The reason is fairly simple. Men often use the telephone as a testing tool. They use it to gauge how interested you are. If he said he'd call and you're impatient and make the call yourself, you're showing him that he's already got you. Instead, if you forget his number and keep yourself busy until he does call (and he will) you're showing him that he still needs to work to gain your attention.
Naturally there are instances when women should call men. If he's called you and you were busy and did not pick up return the call if he left voicemail. If he did not leave a message, do not call him back. You should also be doing the calling if he has given you his number and asked you to call. Some men simply prefer that approach because it helps weed out the rejection. Other than these circumstances, the answer is categorically no relating to the question should women call men.
