It seems that when you're a single gal, everyone wants to offer you free dating advice. Whether it's the well-meaning parents who wonder when you're going to settle down, or the good-natured kidding from your married friends, every single girl has to wade through zillions of pieces of free advice for women on their dating habits.

While it's easy to get overloaded with information from all the dating advice sites out there, here are five dating tips that are universal and unchallenged. These five dating tips are really the only things you need to know.

1. Do not call him. If you had a date with a guy last week and he still has not called, he's not interested. If you had a fight with your boyfriend and you're wondering whether or not you should call, the answer is: Do not call him. This piece of dating advice should be at the top of every single woman's list.

2. Never chase a guy. It's in men's nature to want to chase. If you chase a guy, he will run. Even if they say they like it when a woman is the aggressor, this is simply not true. Subconsciously, men hate it when women chase men.

3. Try not to be a drama queen. Men like stable women. A lot of women take the dating advice that says "be enigmatic." This is good advice, but "enigmatic" does not mean "psychotic."

4. The dating advice that no one ever tells you: When you're looking for a mate, you have to make it a priority. There's nothing wrong with the single professional who's focus is on her career. But if you want to find a boyfriend or a husband, you have to put a lot of time and energy into that. Your career has to take a backseat.

5. When you're looking for a mate, it's not in your best interest to be too picky. It's important to have standards, yes. But if you're looking for a long-term relationship, having height, weight and income levels that men need to live up to will seriously eliminate a lot of good men who may otherwise be the perfect match for you.
